problems with the model from Revit to Infraworks

Hi everyone!

I am fairly new in Infraworks, and today I am having some problems when I try to export the Revit Model (FBX) into Infraworks, because the texture are not being exported, the model appear as grey color. ( the last month all the process were perfect) And I don't know where I could click to change that.

Any help will be really apreciate.

Thanks.

This topic came up a few months ago. The solution for the user was to reinstall Navisworks and the materials library. Give that a shot.

Also, to add to what @Matt__W mentioned, you can directly import Revit models. You don't have to use FBX.

Hi Matt!

Thanks for your help, but I tried everything, I reinstalled Infra-works and Navis-work and I am still with the same problem, and it's only with my computer - program, because I was checking in my colleagues computers and with the same model they can get all the textures and me no.

I attached some pictures just to show what it's happening.

You could try the solution posted in this thread about installing a material library MSI file.

@Ester.DiezRojo, this workflow has proven me before, watch the screencast and give it a shot (if you have Navisworks):

From my experience there are indeed texture and even geometry problems with the direct Revit importer into InfraWorks. The cause of this being probably the conversion of the Revit file to NWC which depends on the Navisworks server engine and after that the model gets imported in InfraWorks. I'm speaking about the local importer here.

The short conclusion is this: use Navisworks to import your Revit file which will look good concerning textures and then export an FBX from Navisworks and import that file into InfraWorks. This has proven me to give the best results. If you want, you can check out my screencast below which will highlight some of this:

Hi, I tried your solution John, but the building will not show up in Infraworks as you can see.

Hey @Ester.DiezRojo, can you share the model of Revit and Infraworks? So we can check.
