3Ds Max viewport lagging when playing animation

Heyo everyone, I'm having kind of an annoying problem, and I'm hoping someone can help me with it!

I've been animating in a scene with a character and a CAT rig without any kind of problem, but as soon as I put another character + CAT rig and i press play, the animation starts lagging, and I don't understand why nor know how to fix it, since it's really annoying.

I've got an i7 with a GTX 1060 and 16GB RAM, I'm using 3DS Max 2018 and the total polycount for each of the characters (both are the same character only one has a shield and a sword and the other one has nothing) are around 35k~
